Hmmm. Hrrrmmm. Yeah.
Nov 5, 03:27 PM
I’m supposed to write here. I promised myself that I would. I’ve been breaking a lot of those promises to myself lately. Going to run three times a week. Nope, twice last week and once this week. Fail. Going to track my diet in an effort to be aware of my choices and make better ones. Nope, I’ve missed the last couple days of that. Going to put up Christmas lights, clean up yard, work on the garage. Nope, still sitting on the couch, watching football.
I know I should cut myself...read more
Other Thoughts
Feb 3, 12:32 PM
The whole situation in Haiti has got me in a quandary. On the one hand, I very much applaud and am proud of the global efforts to help rescue/treat/rebuild. But on the other hand, I feel it is such hypocrisy – maybe that’s not the word I’m looking for. I don’t know. We have homeless, sick, hungry, orphans right in our own cities. Shouldn’t we be putting the same effort into helping them? I think I should be doing more. I want to show my kids that it is our responsibility to help...read more
Try Harder
Dec 3, 03:21 PM
I need to try harder to keep this site updated. My host just renewed my hosting package and domain, so I should use it, right?
I just updated my textpattern install, please let me know if anything is looking funky.
So, where are we at and what’s new? We drove up to Sktn on Monday for the NIN concert. I was finally able to break my NIN concert curse; I didn’t have an asthma attack and miss the encore, nor did I nearly go into labour and miss the last third of the concert. ...read more

Chili Cheese Fries Worked For Me!!
Oct 4, 01:32 PM
When my neighbour in Sktn was sick of being pregnant in April 2007, she tried everything to get herself into labour. One day, we went for a walk, and then for ice cream. But instead of ordering ice cream, she ordered chili cheese fries. She went into labour that night.
Fast forward to Monday, September 29, 2008. We picked Daddy up from work and went to the park for a 2.5 mile walk. We stopped at DQ on the way home and I ordered chili cheese fries. Yum! I was skeptical that it would...read more
Lame-o
Sep 29, 11:07 AM
I am. Lame. I haven’t posted here in months, even though I’ve been on bedrest and had ample time and opportunity. I think I just didn’t want to spend my time on here whining. I am NOT the poster child for a happy, healthy pregnancy.
So, where are we at? 39 weeks pregnant with no signs of this baby showing up anytime soon. Going on three weeks of dental pain with what I suspect is either a leaky filling or an abscess that the dentist won’t even look at while I’m still pregnant. ...read more
A Good Weekend
Jan 13, 04:53 PM
I was filled with the most amazing feelings this weekend. I was reminded just how blessed my family is.
On Friday, I was able to pass my wedding dress on, through the wonderful community that is Regina Full Circle. I hope that the lady that received it has a wedding day that fulfills her dreams, and a lifetime of happiness. I know that I was filled with all sorts of happiness being able to give it to someone deserving, and someone so excited!
People, go and check out your local Full Circle organization! It’s an organization...read more
Happy New Year!!
Jan 1, 09:30 PM
After a rather tiring Christmas season, it’s time to get back in the swing of things!
We made out like bandits – spoiled by everyone! Some of the highlights are a gift certificate for Temple Gardens Mineral Spa, and a Caterpillar Dump Truck that the boy can ride, push, and fill up and dump out. And we received enough money to be able to order a new treadmill that we’re very excited about. So excited that we’ve made serious headway in cleaning/organizing the basement to make room for it. I have my very first race bib...read more
Tests Update
Dec 20, 09:35 PM
Well, things went better than we expected. Not to say it wasn’t a horrible test, but the boy was a star. Totally patient. Pretty much only cried when the catheter went in. And we won’t get the official results until January, but the Dr. that evaluated it gauged his reflux to be grade 2/3 which is a marked improvement from a year ago, when it was grade 4/5. The better it gets over time, the better his odds of having the scope procedure instead of invasive surgery, or possibly no procedure at all. So...read more
Stressed. Tense. Worried. You get the drift.
Dec 18, 09:13 PM
For the last couple weeks I’ve been getting more and more stressed. Today one of my coworkers even told me that I need to “take a deep breath”, that I’m “too tense”. <sigh>
Tomorrow we take the boy for his VCUG and after that, for an ultrasound. The VCUG will tell us what level his kidney reflux is. A year ago it was a grade 4/5 (5 being the most severe). The ultrasound will give us an idea as to how his kidneys have grown and possibly tell us how much...read more
